As a visitor to the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, I am disturbed to hear that the Museum has not agreed to recognize the Tenement Workers Union. I am particularly disappointed to hear that the Museum is demanding that the union go to the National Labor Relations Board, a lengthy and expensive process that is unfairly biased in favor of employers. The Tenement Museum has the opportunity now to practice what you preach. I urge you to honor the mission and history of the Museum by recognizing the union and bargaining a fair contract.
