Who are we?
We are the Professional and Administrative Staff Association (PASTA) of The Museum of Modern Art, representing 250 administrative assistants, archivists, curatorial staff, conservators, educators, graphic artists, librarians, registrars, salespeople, secretaries, visitor assistants, and writers. Our union is Local 2110, UAW. We went on strike April 28, 2000.
The strike was settled on September 9, 2000.
After four and a half months on strike, MoMA management and the union finally met at the bargaining table and reached a settlement during a fifteen-hour session. The Museum moved on all of the major issues and the contract was ratified by the union on Saturday, September 9, 2000.
