what is GSOC? GSOC-UAW (Graduate Student Organizing Committee) is the first-ever union for graduate employees at a private university. We made history when we won recognition for our union in April 2001. With the strength of an active and committed membership, we won our first contract in just nine months in January 2002. GSOC represents approximately 1100 graduate, teaching and research assistants at NYU and we are an independent bargaining unit within UAW Local 2110.
